@Jeff’s festival

Hey! Here some short news of me on my time in Slovenia…

Summing it up: in was great! I was received very warmly by Jaka (drummer), Jure (guitar and singer), Primoz (percussion/pimpi) and Jure (bass guitar) of the band Od Franclna Mozgani.  I arrived at the place of the concert at 18.00 and first kept watching their rehearsals. Before the concert started we had our first brainstorming on the interview and what our group would like to know about them on Slovenia and their music.  Then we did the interviews and I got so much material… ooh, that I don´t even know where to start… But as soon as the affairs here in Germany are done I will update all audio and video material, I promise!

At around, I guess – 3.30 in the night – we had our “mid-night dinner” with Slovenian Bowl and dishes, in the garden of some befriended students. It was amazing being invited to such a cosy place and I wish I would have spoken some more Slovenian than “Ne znam slovensko” – I don´t speak Slovenian – that evening… The night we slept at Tinka’s house, a friend of Jure (Bass) in Portoroz (”harbour of roses”… a romantic place, indeed). It is an old stone-house with wine-plants and fig-trees in the backyard where I felt like at my grandma’s some years ago, in still some less accelerated period of my life.

Even though I just “passed by” this country very quickly, it will be impossible to forget the hospitality with that I was received by all these Slovenian people. Slovenija se mi zelo dopada. Hvala lepo za vse! :o)
