At the beginning of the twenty-first century, tourism becomes one of the biggest industries in the world. It is a tendency which does not show any signs of change till now. The century in progress also brought us the awareness that it is necessary to rethink extensively the way in which we are producing, consuming and living. Likewise, we should do in the industry of tourism.
According to these considerations, our journey will take place as much as possible in an eco-friendly way. We are going to travel on board of Brancaleon, an old and wooden ketch which we have restored in Venice. Thanks to the energy of the sails and the wind, this sailing ship is able to carry us with a comparatively low ecological impact throughout our voyage. We will avoid the use of motor and we will utilize products preferably on ecological basis. It will be consumed local food that respects ecosystems in its production and that advocates local businesses.
The main objective of our sustainable way of travelling is not simply to consume and exploit the places we will visit, but to return what will be given to us. We are determined to conduct a truthful “cultural exchange” and our part of this exchange is our effort to promote the culture of these places and show it to a bigger public.
